Monday evening, amid lightening and downpours, our Lobo community came out to appreciate the breathtaking talent of our students at the Spring Art Show. Hundreds of art pieces filled Zellars Center eliciting "oos and aahs" usually reserved for fireworks and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
More than 1,000 parents, students, friends, and neighbors strolled the art-lined halls and toured the sculpture gallery. Art designed by students in kindergarten through high school showed the creativity and expression our accomplished art teachers inspired in their young artists.
Superintendent, Dr. Lowell Strike awarded "Superintendent Medals" to 50 of the works. "Each piece was special," said Strike. "I struggled to make choices because every one deserves to be recognized! Art is an expression of the beauty we find in ourselves. I am in awe of the beauty our students and staff shared with us."
