Mrs. Andrea Diaz

I am so excited to be a part of English Language Arts Department at Strike this year!  This is my sixth year teaching in Little Elm and my first year at Strike.   I began my teaching career back in 2000 and spent several years teaching in McKinney and Fort Worth before moving to Little Elm ISD. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin, with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have a specialty in Reading and a minor in Writing.  I am excited to use my 20+ years of teaching experience and strong ELAR background to help with 6th, 7th and 8th grade Reading Lab this year.

I am married with a total of 6 kids.  We have a son who lives in Austin and works for Google. We have two teenage daughters: a first year college student and a graduating senior. I have a son in eighth grade with me at Strike this year. Finally, two more daughters: both a third grader and a first grader at Prestwick.

When I have down time, I love to read pretty much anything with words and write my own poetry. I also love to bake and garden. I am a cheery, creative, morning person and I love my job!  I look forward to a fun and fulfilling year and am thrilled to work with students again this year!
