State Required Testing

  • For high school students there are five STAAR end-of-course (EOC) assessments:
    • Algebra I
    • Biology
    • English I
    • English II
    • US History 

    STAAR EOC Frequently Asked Questions
     
    Who participates in the STAAR EOC tests?
    Students who start high school during or after the 2011-2012 school year, including middle school students enrolled in Algebra I. 
     
    When are the STAAR EOC tests administered?
     They are given three times per year - spring, summer, and fall.
     
    Can students re-take the tests?
    Yes, students must continue to re-take each EOC exam required for graduation until they are successful on them.
     
    How do I know if my student passed?
    There are four levels on the new STAAR Report Card.
    Did Not Meet Grade Level = student did NOT pass 
    Approaches Grade Level = student passed
    Meets Grade Level = student passed
    Masters Grade Level = student passed
