Mrs. LoriAnn Nohre
Originally from Upstate NY, LoriAnn Nohre was fortunate to be part of one of the best band programs in NY. Her instrumental career started in 4th Grade. By 5th Grade, she was in All-County band and choir and receiving Superiors in Solo and Ensemble events. During high school, LoriAnn was part of All-County, Area, and All-State band and orchestra. Teaching came easy for her and in high school she started assisting classmates on concert music and solos.
Mrs. Nohre received an AAS in Music from Onondaga Community College in 1992 and went on to graduate from Syracuse University with a BM in Music Education in 1995. After college, she continued teaching lessons and substituted for several of the area schools. In the fall of ‘95, she accepted a position teaching general music, choir, and piano lessons at a Parochial School. The following year took her to Central Florida, where she taught middle school choir and band earning the highest ratings the schools have ever received. Mrs. Nohre also taught master classes on a regular basis for several of the area schools, and was a woodwind/marching instructor for one of the high schools. Her lesson students were involved in All-State and all receive Superiors in Solo and Ensemble including State.
In 2002, due to family reasons, saw a move to Panama City, FL. While there she became involved with the Bay Wind Community Band as principal clarinetist and Band Secretary as well as a member of the Orchestra of St. Andrew’s Bay and a regular substitute with the 98th Army Band of Ft. Rucker, AL. Her husband’s job later took them to the North Dallas area of in Texas. Where they currently reside.
Since being in North Dallas, she was a member of the Frisco Community Band and has been a current member of the Metropolitan Winds since 2012. She has had the privilege of being a lesson teacher for clarinet and saxophone in Allen ISD, Frisco ISD, and Little Elm ISD. Over the past several years, she has adjudicated for All-Region and Solo and Ensemble events at the middle school and high school levels.
