Private Counseling Practice of Monique Thompson LPC
Dr. Monique Thompson was first elected to the School Board in November 2020. Prior to being elected as a Trustee, Dr. Thompson was on the District Education Improvement Committee (DEIC) and a member of Community Leadership Academy for Supporting Success (CLASS). Dr. Thompson’s community involvement includes helping student with scholarship strategies through the Zero Debt College Project and active membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Omicron Mu Omega Chapter. Dr. Thompson is a member of every PTA in the district and a charter member of the PTSA at the high school.
Dr. Thompson is a consultant for Southern Methodist University (SMU) Perkins School of Theology. She is Associate Faculty with the University of Phoenix where she was nominated for Faculty of the Year, 2020. She was recently named a 2021 History In Heels Honoree.
Dr. Monique Thompson, DHA, LPC, LPC-S is a mental health counselor in private practice north of Dallas/Fort Worth. Her specialties are adult survivors of sexual trauma, couples recovery from affairs, PTSD and Bipolar Disorder. She was recently picked up by publisher, Callisto Media and published a workbook, Infidelity Recovery Workbook for Couples: Tools and Exercises to Rebuild Your Relationship which has ranked in the top 100-200 Dating Books on Amazon.
Dr. Thompson and her husband, Nick have resided in Little Elm since October 2005. They have one student attending school in the district and one Class of 2020 graduate who was offered over 10 million in merit scholarships. Dr. Thompson has a saying, I don’t just like kids, I LOVE kids, which is her deepest “why” for joining the School Board.
