Mrs. Michelle Gentry

District Lead Counselor, Lobo Collegiate Academy, Career Counselor 
 
Mrs. Gentry has been with LEISD for more than a decade, serving as a 4th grade teacher at Zellars Elementary and then as an English and journalism teacher at LEHS before making the transition to a counseling role. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English/Journalism from Tennessee Technological University and also holds a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Amberton University.
 
After first serving as a House Counselor, Mrs. Gentry now serves as the lead secondary counselor for the district. She oversees Lobo Collegiate Academy and enjoys working with students to provide guidance and resources in career and military planning.
 
Mrs. Gentry lives in the community with her husband, Robb, who also teaches at LEHS. They are the proud parents of three Little Elm High School graduates.

Mr. Michael Absher

Professional School Counselor, Last Names A-C

Mr. Absher serves as a House Counselor for students A-C.  Prior to joining the district, Mr. Absher served as a School Counselor for eighteen years at Centennial High School in Roswell, GA, and for two years at Legacy High School in N. Las Vegas, NV.  Mr. Absher was part of a high school counseling program in Georgia that was among the first in the state to achieve the status of Recognized ASCA (American School Counseling Association) Model Program in 2010.

Mr. Absher earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.  He holds a Master of Theological Studies Degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and a Master of Science Degree in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  He is also a National Certified Counselor and is an active member of the American School Counselor Association, Lone Star State School Counselor Association, and Texas Counseling Association.

Mr. Absher brings a wealth of experience providing high school academic and postsecondary guidance and counseling to diverse populations of students.  He looks forward to the opportunity to serve and assist LEHS students and parents with all of their academic, personal/social, and college/career needs!

Mrs. Lacecia Whitehead

Professional School Counselor, Last Names D-Hi

Mrs. Whitehead has been with LEISD for 10 years, serving as a middle school special education teacher at Lakeside and Lowell H. Strike Middle Schools.  Prior to becoming an educator in LEISD, she served as the special education, 504, and gifted and talented coordinator for Harmony School Public Schools.  

Mrs. Whitehead earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  She holds a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University.  She is currently working on her Master of Education in Special Education at Lamar University.

Mrs. Whitehead and her husband live in Crossroads, Texas, along with their three children; two of whom are Little Elm High School graduates. She also has three adorable fur babies named Coco, Chloe, and Nyla. Mrs. Whitehead spends her free time reading and is an avid crafter.  She is excited to join the Little Elm High School famiLE and is looking forward to helping students reach their fullest academic potential!

Mr. Dedrick Linwood

Professional School Counselor, Last Names Ho-Me

Mr. Linwood serves as the House Counselor for students whose last name begins with Ho-Me. He has been in education for 18 years. Prior to becoming a school counselor, he taught all levels of World History and served as the Varsity cheerleading coach at MacArthur High School in Irving ISD. He has been a school counselor in Irving ISD, Katy ISD and Allen ISD, and has experience working with diverse student populations.

Mr. Linwood earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and History from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. He also holds a Master of Education in Counseling and a Master of Education in Educational Administration both from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX. Currently, he is working on his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Prairie View A&M University. He is an active member of the American School Counselor Association, the Lone Star State School Counselor Association, and the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators.

Mr. Linwood is an avid sports fan who enjoys football, basketball, and tennis. In his free time, he enjoys traveling the world to experience the history, culture, and food of the countries he visits. He also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his dog Kingston.

Mr. Linwood’s counseling philosophy is student-centered and solution focused. He believes in a comprehensive counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Mrs. Jacqueline Boyd

Professional School Counselor, Last Names Mi-R

Mrs. Boyd serves as the House Counselor for students whose last name begins with Mi-R. She has been in education for 11 years. Prior to joining Little Elm High School, she served one year as a High School Counselor at International Leadership of Texas and two years in CFB ISD as a Positive Behavior Specialist. She has also worked as a College Counselor for two years at Uplift Education in Dallas, TX and has taught various courses in Physical Education and College Readiness for six years. 

Mrs. Boyd earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 2009. She also holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Psychology from The University of North Texas in Denton, TX and a Master of Science in Professional School Counseling from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. Additionally, she is a member of the American School Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. 

Mrs. Boyd is experienced with serving at-risk and diverse student populations, and she is passionate about closing the achievement gap in education and social justice. She and her husband live in Aubrey, Texas with their two dogs. She is excited about joining the LEISD famiLE and is looking forward to serving her students. Go Lobos!

Mrs. Teri Smith

Professional School Counselor, Last Names S-Z

Mrs. Smith serves as the House Counselor for students whose last names begin with S-Z, and has been a member of the Lobo famiLE since 2004. Prior to becoming a member of the LEHS counseling team, she was employed as a 1st grade teacher and then as an English as a Second Language Specialist. She also served students as a Middle School Counselor while working at Lakeside and then Walker Middle School.

Mrs. Smith received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas, and she earned her Master of Arts in School Counseling from Amberton University. She is an active member of both the American School Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.

Mrs. Smith and her husband, Mike, are the parents of 4 Little Elm High School graduates. She is proud to work at LEHS alongside two of her children who serve as teachers on campus, and is looking forward to a great year! #Loboforlife

Mrs. Jessica Ross

Intervention & Crisis Counselor

Mrs. Ross currently serves as the Intervention and Crisis Counselor for Little Elm High School. Prior to becoming a school counselor, she taught as a high school English and Social Studies teacher in both CFB ISD and LE ISD. She has also worked as a School Counselor in Denton ISD where she helped students navigate high school successfully and prepare for the next stages of their lives. 

Mrs. Ross earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. After moving to Texas in 2010, she studied Creative Writing and earned a Master of Liberal Studies degree from Southern Methodist University in 2013. She then returned to SMU and earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling. Currently, she holds the titles of both Certified School Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She is also a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American School Counselor Association and the American Counseling Association.

Mrs. Ross and her husband, Ben, live in the community and have a good-girl doggo named Gracie Law. She is so excited to rejoin her Lobo famiLE and is looking forward to helping our students for this upcoming school year!

Mr. Linzy Evans

Licensed School Social Worker

Mr. Evans currently serves as the School Social Worker for Little Elm High School. Although this role is new to Little Elm High School, Mr. Evans is not new to School Social Work. He has 14+ years of experience providing case management and mental health support to students in schools, and in 2014, he won the Social Worker of the year award with Community in Schools-HOT. Additionally, he has served the past 5 years with Plano ISD as the Lead Social Worker for the central zone of Plano. He specializes in community partnerships and working with at-risk youth.

Mr. Evan’s first degree was in the field of music; he received a Commercial Music degree from Mclennan Community College in Waco, TX. Although proud of his work as a musician, he quickly realized he had a burning desire to help and serve others in a different capacity. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Tarleton State University and, shortly after, earned his Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Currently, Mr. Evans is a Licensed Master Social Worker. He has completed all of the required hours to obtain his Clinical License and is planning to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker very soon!

Mr. Evans and his wife have two beautiful children, Princeton and Maleah, ages 7 and 7 months, whom they love very much. They currently reside in Savannah, TX, and on any given day, you can find them spending time with family, hanging out with friends, or lounging somewhere near a water park. Mr. Evans is both elated and proud to join the Lobo famiLE and to serve as the school's first full-time Social Worker!
