No student will be turned away from participating in the LEISD Student Laptop Program due to financial hardships. Financial assistance is provided for families who participate in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program.
Reduced rates for the DPP will be reflected when you login to your www.myschoolbucks.com account.
In the spirit of providing fair opportunities to the LEISD Student Laptop Program, prorated discounts will be offered for families who enroll in Little Elm ISD throughout the school year. You may view the Prorated DPP Schedule for more information.
In general, the DPP rate will be discounted every quarter of the school year.
For example, if a student enrolls during the Second Quarter of the school year, the DPP amount is reduced by 25%. If they enroll during the Fourth Quarter, their DPP amount is reduced by 75% (because the school year is 75% completed). To keep the plan simple, we have rounded each amount down to the nearest dollar.
Families paying standard fees or a Free & Reduced (NSLP) fee may pay the prorated DPP through the MySchoolBucks website.
Families requesting to receive the Multi-Device Family Discount in addition to the prorated DPP will need to pay through their school's Front Office. The MySchoolBucks online payment website is NOT setup to collect Multi-Family Discount Prorated DPP payments.
If you are in need of additional financial assistance, please contact your child's principal.
What is the Device Protection Plan?
The Device Protection Plan (DPP) is insurance for our student device. It is not a deposit.
The DPP helps offset the costs of the insurance plans we purchase for our 1:1 devices each year. It protects students and their parents from paying additional costs to cover repairs on accidental damage. It is not intended to cover damage due to mistreatment or intention.
Our insurance plans specify what is covered in terms of accidental damage/stolen device and what is not covered. Anything not covered by these insurance plans result in a fine levied to the student/parent for the damage or lost items.
What is Covered under the DPP?
The Device Protection Plan fee covers:
- Accidental damage
- Support for internet filtering services provided for devices at home and at school
- Accessories related to the laptop
