Mr. Clint Turner - Choir
My name is Clint Turner, and I'm thrilled to continue making music at WMS this year! This will be my 6th year of teaching. I graduated from UNT in May 2017, and graduated from Little Elm High School in 2013. I performed with both the band and choir programs, and received my inspiration to become a music teacher from Karen Mayberry who had been in the district for over 20 years. I taught for 2 years at Oak Point Elementary, and then worked for Lakeside Middle School during the 2019-2020 school year.
My experience as a singer includes performing in 7 operas at UNT, 12 years of choral singing experience, and this 2022-2023 season, you'll be able to come and watch me perform with the Dallas Symphony Chorus!
I feed and walk 2 mutts, and I married my high school sweetheart, Quynh, in November 2017. These days you can catch us climbing to 18,000 feet in the Himalayas on our vacations!
My mom retired from LEISD in 2021 after teaching for 29 years, and my dad is a retired teacher and Master Peace officer. My little sister, Shelby, graduated from LEHS in 2021, and is now a student at UNT in Denton, Texas. I'm also the proud brother of a Navy sailor, Kolby, and I'm excited to see my brother serving our amazing country.
I love making music and helping spark the same passion for music within my students. This WILL be a wonderful school year, and I can't wait to get to know y'all, and continue a tradition of success at Walker Middle School.
“In these days of political, personal and economic disintegration, music is not a luxury, it's a necessity; not simply because it is therapeutic, nor because it is the universal language, but because it is the persistent focus of our intelligence, aspiration and goodwill.” --- Robert Shaw
