Software (online textbooks & other digital tools)
-
Students use websites and other online tools every day as part of their learning. This includes their online textbooks, reading ebooks online, and participating in interactive lessons. LEISD has a system to make it easier for students to login to these platforms.

LEISD Login Portal & Clever
The LEISD Login Portal is our district’s single sign-on product (SSO). Students and teachers can easily access and automatically login to software, online textbooks, and websites from the SSO.
Clever is a product within the Login Portal where additional software is located, again allowing users to automatically login to websites with a single click.
Click here for instructions on how to login to the LEISD Login Portal and Clever.
Note: The “RapidIdentity” app in the iOS App Store does not work as a login for the LEISD Portal. That app serves a separate purpose for their company.

G Suite Applications from Google
LEISD has used Google's "G Suite for Education" applications like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and more for many years. Students are taught from early elementary grades how to login to their LEISD Google account and use the tools in the platform. G Suite tools are perfect for when students need to collaborate with each other on written work in a Google Doc or put together a group presentation in Google Slides.
One of the biggest benefits of using the G Suite tools is that they are always available from any internet-connected device, with no software installation required. The G Suite tools run best in the Chrome internet browser, or through apps on a smart phone or tablet. Students can login to their LEISD Google account from anywhere at any time and continue working where they left off at school.
Students can access their LEISD G Suite tools (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.) from their LEISD Login Portal (RapidIdentity) account.
If a student is logged in to a LEISD Chromebook, they will automatically be logged in to their LEISD Google account. They will only need to go to the LEISD Login Portal to find the links to their Gmail, Google Drive, etc.
For additional support in how to use the G Suite tools, please visit Google's "G Suite Learning Center"

Zoom Videoconferencing
All LEISD videoconference meetings will be held through the Zoom software platform, including daily live instruction between teachers and students.
Students Installing the Zoom Software
Installing the Zoom software will look different for each user, depending on the device they are using to join the meetings. Users can join Zoom meetings from their LEISD devices (Macbook or Chromebook) or personal devices such as smartphones, tablets (iPad, etc.), or a home computer.
Students in Grades 10-12 with Macboooks
Students with Macbooks will need to download the Zoom software to their computer. This can be done through LEISD Self Service, where students and staff can safely download approved software. Click here for instructions on how to access Self Service on a Macbook.
Students in Grades K-9 with Chromebooks
Students with Chromebooks will use the Zoom Chrome extension, which should already be installed on all LEISD Chromebooks. If you can not find it or if a Zoom meeting does not launch, go here to install the “Zoom” Chrome extension
Optional: Apps for Mobile Devices and Home Computers
Apps for smartphones, tablets, and other home computers can be downloaded from the Zoom Download Center.
Test Your Computer Before Your Zoom Meeting
Students should test their computer's settings and internet connection prior to their first Zoom meeting. Go to https://zoom.us/test to access a test Zoom session where you can to familiarize yourself with the Zoom software and test your microphone/speakers and webcam before joining a Zoom meeting. More instructions can be found here.
Accessing Your Zoom Meeting
Teachers will share links to Zoom meetings with their students. Please contact your student's teacher if you do not have a link to a class meeting.
Using the Zoom Software
Below are instructions for Students using the Zoom software:
If you cannot connect to a meeting through the Zoom software, you may be able to connect through your internet browser, if the teacher has allowed that. These instructions can show you how to do this.
