Gina Armstrong, Jerry R. Walker Middle School
Hello! My name is Gina Armstrong and I am thrilled to be the new Instructional Coach at Jerry Walker Middle School. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and later earned my Master of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in curriculum and instruction from Capella University. This year I will begin my 15th year in education.
My earliest experience in teaching was at the high school level in Florida for six years. I moved to Texas in 2012, where I joined the Little Elm ISD family at Lakeside Middle School where I taught various CTE courses and became the AVID elective teacher and coordinator. While at Lakeside, I spent time as part of the PBIS committee, Electives department chair, Model Teacher Program and New Teacher Mentor program as well as completed the LEISD Aspiring Leaders Institute. Outside of the classroom, I coached girls’ athletics in volleyball, basketball and track. During the 2017-2018 school year, I was honored and humbled to be named campus Teacher of the Year, as well as LEISD’s District Secondary Teacher of the Year.
As your instructional coach, my values of integrity and trustworthiness will guide our learning process together. I truly believe that everyone can learn and succeed, with the right supports and systems in place. It is my goal to be a support, build intentional relationships that allow me to collaborate effectively, both inside and outside of the classroom. I will champion teachers as they build upon their own skills, expertise and capacity to provide high quality instruction to all students. It is my hope that we can continue building a culture of excellence, as a team, with all of the amazing teachers and administrators on our campus, as well as campuses across our district.
