Hi Lobos!  
My name is Deb Kirby and I teach 8th grade science and coach cheerleading. I am so excited to be with you at Walker this year! This is my 13th year as a science teacher and my 11th year as a cheer coach. Along with 8th grade science, I have also taught high school sciences (Biology, IPC, and Anatomy and Physiology) and coached varsity cheerleading. 
I was born and raised in Kenya, East Africa where I developed a deep love for animals and nature. I attended Abilene Christian University where my love of all things science grew and I earned my BS in Life Sciences. Now I love sharing my passion for science with my students and enjoy watching it become their own, as they learn and grow. I love sports and anything outdoors. I especially love soccer, scuba diving, travelling, and cliff jumping. I have been married to my amazing husband for 13 years and we just welcomed our first child, a little girl, into the world in May.  I can't wait to begin this new adventure with you, and look forward to a great year!
