Hi, I am Damian Groves , 5th Grade Science.  This will be my 20th year in education, my seventh in Little Elm ISD.  I am married to Lynne who is a retired school nurse from Lake Dalls ISD.  We have two grown children, Ashley and Kevin. Ashley has been married for 10 years to Ryan.  She is an Occupational Therapist (TWU) and Ryan (her Husband) works for the fraud division of a banking company (TCU).  They have a daughter, Emma who is going to be 8 and starting 2nd Grade at Oak Point Elementary and Annalyn who is 5 and starting Kindergarten at Oakpoint.  Kevin has been married to Alisha for 12 years.  He  is a 7th grade teacher (10 yrs. Math) in Tyler ISD(UNT) and Alisha, his wife, will be starting a job in Lyndale ISD as a school secretary. Their sons will be in the Lyndale ISD, Jameson (9) 4th Grade and Jonathan (6) 1st Grade.  Lynne and I moved to Aubrey 7 years ago. We bought a house built in 1891 and are enjoying making it our own.  We count our blessings every day.

   Every day in my classroom, I discuss what we are learning and how it is and will be relevant to them in the future whether they go to college or enter the workforce.  I see students with a lot of misconceptions about college, as if it is an unattainable goal.  Showing them what they can accomplish with hard work and effort is important in changing those misconceptions.  I want them to move on with the confidence that they can achieve any goal they set for themselves. My goal for each student is that they will become lifelong learners and contribute positively to their communities, while reaching their full potential.
