2020 - 2021 will be my 5th year at Little Elm High School and I am looking forward to working with the Practicum in Health Science students and the Health Science Theory students.

I went from working as an Administrative Assistant in the Life Insurance field to Nursing in 1997.  I received my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in 1999 from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas then in 2005 I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Texas Woman's University and now I have completed my Masters in Workforce Learning and Performance from University of North Texas with emphasis on Career and Technical Education in August 2018.  I completed my Master's in Science of Nursing in Nursing Informatics with a Certifciation in Nursing Education December 2020 at the University of Texas at Tyler.  I think I have an issue with going to college :) 

My Nursing career has taken me to work in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum (high risk pregnancies), Postpartum, Women's Gyn Surgeries, Middle School Nursing and Nursing Case Management.  The part about nursing that I have enjoyed the most is teaching others whether it was a new nurse, patients or kids at the middle school and high school.  This desire to teach has lead me to my second career of teaching and I am looking forward to many years of helping others understand the opportunities the Heath Care industry has to offer. 

I also have a wonderful husband of 17 years and two great boys (one in 7th grade and one in 9th) at home, who are my world.  There are also 3 four legged kiddos at home - 2 labs and 1 chiweenie - they think they rule the house.
