This is my 3rd year in LEISD and my 5th year teaching. I have experience teaching both elementary and high school English Language Arts. This year I have taken on the role of Varsity Cheerleading Coach, Wolf Pack Sponsor, and Creative Writing teacher. I am so happy here at LEHS and enjoy being a part of this community with my husband and my two kids.

  • Hello parents,

    We have survived the first progress report and are sailing smoothly toward the end of Unit 1! I wanted to make sure you are aware of the after school opportunities made available to your student.
    My tutoring hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. Students are always welcome to come in no matter what their grade. Not only is this a great opportunity to further understanding of difficult concepts, but it also helps me to get to know each student so that I can continually meet their individual needs. I will have a variety of relevant lessons that students can work on if their intention is to raise a failing grade. The lessons are created to supplement what we are working on in class. Students who come to tutoring and complete a lesson will be eligible to raise their lowest formative grade and will earn extra live school points which they can exchange for goods at the school. Students can also choose to come into tutoring hours to work on No Red Ink. Students have assignments on this platform that are mandatory but will require a bit of outside time to complete.
    If your child is retaking the English I STAAR test in December, I encourage them to attend tutoring hours regardless of their grade in my class.
    Once our first summative grades are posted in the grade book, specific instructions will be posted for how to raise grades that are lower than an 85. The corrections process will be specific to each assignment so that we can ensure that students are improving understanding rather than just completing a task.

    Hemos sobrevivido al primer informe de progreso y estamos navegando sin problemas hacia el final de la Unidad 1! Quería asegurarme de que usted está al tanto de las oportunidades después de la escuela que se ponen a disposición de su estudiante.

    Mis horas de tutoría son los martes y jueves de 3-4pm. Los estudiantes son siempre bienvenidos a venir sin importar su grado. No sólo es una gran oportunidad para entender mejor los conceptos difíciles, sino que también me ayuda a conocer a cada estudiante para poder satisfacer sus necesidades individuales de manera continua.   • Dear Parents, 

    I have had the most amazing time getting to know your children this week! We have already been working together to identify each other's communication styles, collaborating to create social contracts, and diving into our first text, a wonderful piece of literary nonfiction titled Night written by Holocaust surviver and Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel.
    Please make sure you have paid for your student's laptop so that they can pick it up before school, after school, or during lunch. Once the majority of students have their laptops, they will all enroll in my google classroom. You may join as a parent to be able to see what we are doing in class. 
    Soon, I will be reaching out to you about our tutoring program and how it can benefit your child based on their STAAR results last spring.
