Mrs. Madison Young - 6th World Cultures

My name is Mrs. Young. I attended college at the University of Texas at Austin, where I received a B.A. in Psychology. I then received my alternative teaching certificate through iTeach. This is my 4th year teaching in LEISD, all 4 teaching 6th grade World Cultures. I love learning about the world - geography, history, culture - and I love teaching. This year I'll be teaching 6th World Cultures and 7th TX History.

I've been married to my husband, Turner, for 4 years! We have a 2-year-old, Weston, and several fur babies. We live in Krum, TX, but we love to travel (we have family all over the U.S.). We also love reading, going on walks, and trying new foods!

I'm so, so excited for this year, even though it might look a little different than we're all used to!

I have joint tutorials with Mr. Fant, who also teaches World Cultures, every Wednesday and Thursday before school (7:45-8:30).

    Grading Policy:

My grading policy mirrors that of Walker Middle School. Final grades are made up of formative (daily grades, quizzes, etc.) and summative (tests, projects, etc.) grades. If a student receives a failing grade on a quiz or test, that assignment may be retaken for a maximum of 85 if the student attends at least one tutorial session (more than one session may be necessary).
