Mrs. Shari-Khadija L. Zaidi

I am working at Hackberry Elementary as a Special Education Inclusion Specialist since December 2018. I am part of the Communication Team at Hackberry.  Before becoming an Inclusion Specialist, I was a substitute teacher for several years with the district and also worked at Hackberry as an assistant in the same department. Previously I taught at Dallas ISD in the Special Education Department in an Autism Communications Unit grades 3rd-5th.

I was born in Eureka, California population 26,000, the land of the Redwood Trees. As a child, I enjoyed camping and swimming with my parents and spending time at the river and on the beach chasing waves. I have been married to my husband Zia for over 27 years. I have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. I reside in Little Elm and have been in Texas since about 2009. I love the little Elm Community and the District as a whole.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, studying Sufism, and reading books. I also enjoy taking care of my children's pets. 4 parakeets, a guinea pig, and two cats. I enjoy visiting my family in California and my husband's family in Canada.

My goal in education is to offer all my students the chance to learn and gain knowledge to grow to their full potential by teaching them the skills they need to succeed. I want to let them know that they matter and they can achieve their dreams.   I will be offering them the tools they  need to help them along the way.
