Greetings - my name is Jimmy Ross, and I am delighted to be joining the Hackberry Elementary famiLE as Principal!  I have been in education the last 21 years, teaching for 13 years and serving as an administrator on both private and public school campuses for 8 years.  As I walked around peeking inside Hackberry teacher classrooms, I could already tell I am at a place where there is great creativity, passion for teaching, and respect for the craft of molding students' lives.  

 

My wife of 26 years tells me teachers love me because they find me to be an advocate, a problem solver, and a servant leader.  Our oldest son, a recent graduate of TCU, told me students love me, not because I have a Masters of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary or a Masters of Education in Counseling from Lamar University, but because I show care for students in the midst of upholding the student code of conduct.  My youngest daughter, a junior at the University of Houston, expressed to me that parents love me because I make sincere efforts to partner with them in helping each student achieve academic excellence.
