I am certified in English 6-12 with ESL and GT certifications as well and received my Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Woman's University.

Welcome to English with Mrs. Blackwell!  I am excited for all the knowledge we will share this year.

 

I have been teaching English for 25 years and was at my last school for 20 years, but wanted to be closer to my home community.  I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a small child, instructing my stuffed animals and dolls.  Enjoying people and learning makes it a perfect decision, and I hope to positively impact each and every student I encounter.   

My husband is Tom, and we have grown children, a son and two daughters.  My son and his wife have two children, the joy of my world, Kaydence and Nash.

My hobbies are spending time with my family and friends, playing board and card games, and reading.
