BS Secondary Education - English | Oklahoma State University
Mr. Michael Potts
Howdy! My name is Michael Potts, and I am excited to be in my third year with Little Elm ISD! I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education - English as well as minors in German and Coaching Science.
After beginning my teaching career at Pan-American School in Costa Rica, I am very excited to begin teaching high school Spanish one. Additionally, I will be coaching Freshmen football in the fall, and softball in the spring. Let's go Lobos!
Outside of school I really enjoy a simple life of playing and watching sports, watching movies and shows on Netflix, and studying new languages. I do really enjoy traveling the world and have tons of trips planned out and waiting for me! If you have recommendations for movies to watch or places to check out on my travels I would love to hear them! Additionally, I would love to become fluent in at least two more languages (if not more!).
I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since 9th grade. Our high school band directors were telling us about how proud they were of all we had accomplished because of the hard work that we as students put in. Standing and listening to them, I realized that had it not been for their lofty expectations and dedication to our success, we would never have achieved what we did. Because of them, I knew that I wanted to make an impact on students in a similar way. I love watching my students grow academically, athletically, and artistically. To see them become engrossed in their passions and learn to become more caring for each other is really rewarding to me.
If you would like to schedule tutoring or set up a conference with me, please contact me via email at mpotts@littleelmisd.net Si es necesario que hablamos en español, lo puedo hacer! Por favor mandarme correos electrónicos si usted tiene dudas o preguntas! I am available for tutorials on Tuesday or Wednesday before school at 6:45am until 7:15am.
