Bio:  Welcome to my classroom page.  I am excited to begin the year as a Little Elm Strike Lobo!  It is going to be a great year, and I'm elated to begin this journey with you.

Personally, I am married and have three adult sons.  We are blessed to have two grandchildren that are the light of our world.  With the addition of them, there is never a dull moment at our house.  We enjoy riding bikes and spending time near water, whether that be a pool, lake, or ocean.

Professionally, I have been in education for over 20 years.  Years ago, I ran a privately owned preschool during a time when my own children were young.  Those were precious years for sure!  I have spent the past eight years teaching 5th grade ELAR/SS at a local North Texas school.

I have attended several area colleges over the years to acquire my educational degrees.  I began my educational journey at NCTC in Corinth where I was inspired to learn and grow, setting high goals for myself.  Then, I transferred to TWU to complete my bachelor's degree.  There I continued to be exposed to inspirational educators that pushed me to do great things.  I earned my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and went on to earn my Masters in Education as a Reading Specialist.

Recently, I completed training to earn my Principal Certification and TTESS that would allow me to evaluate and support educators if and when needed in my career.

Currently, I am participating in LEAD training that focusing on best practices for supporting dyslexic students.  In the weeks I attended training this summer, I have learned many strategies I am excitied to use in my classroom with my incoming students.  As you can probably tell, I have a love for being a life long learner.  Continuing to connect with fellow educators allows me to learn and grow, with an end goal of being a better teacher for my students.
