Visiting the library:

  • Students are welcome and encouraged to visit the library as often as possible! 

    In-Person Learning: All students will be visiting the library with their English classes on a regular basis.  Students may also visit the library without their class, but only with the teacher's knowledge and a signed pass.

     At-Home Learning: Students receiving their education at home are just as valuable.  You may check out ebooks through our online catalog.  Please follow these instructions:

     COVID 19 Safety Protocals:  Browsing of the library collection will be permitted at this time, but we ask students follow these guidelines:

    • Please give everyone space.  Social distance.
    • Students must wear a mask.
    • Students will be asked to sanitize their hands as they enter the library.

    Additionally, all books being returned to the library will not be placed back into circulation for a minimum of 72 hours.  Disinfectant will be used as needed.

     General Checkout Information:

    • Limit- Students may check out up to 2 books at a time and keep them for 2 weeks.
    • Students may borrow books for up to 2 weeks.

Overdue Books

    • Books may be checked out for up to two weeks.  After two weeks, they are considered overdue and need to be returned as soon as possible.
    • No late fines are assessed, but students are expected to pay for lost books.
    • Students may not check out any books until account is cleared.

Hours of Operation

  • Lakeside Middle School Library is open 8:35 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

     
    Before school Quiet Zone
    8:35 a.m. - 8:55 a.m. (no pass required)
     
    During school day:
    English teachers are scheduled to bring their classes to the library every three weeks.
    Students may visit the library during any class, as long as they have a pass from the teacher.

     

    After School:
    4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (no pass required)

Rules of the Library

    • No food, drinks (including water), or gum
    • Students visiting the library without their class need to bring a signed pass from their teacher.
    • Respect other people's space and belongings
