Hi.  My name is Kelly Stribling Sutherland, and I have been teaching 16 years in LEISD as an elementary art teacher at Chavez for 13 years and now a 3rd year teacher at Little Elm High School.  I am excited to be teaching Art I and Art II this year.   Prior to teaching, I worked as a freelance illustrator for more than 20 years.  I worked with clients such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, American Airlines, Scottish Rite Hospital, Nordstrom, Scholastic books and many more. 

I am all about the arts.  It is my passion in the classroom and out of the classroom.  I like to teach students art history, art techniques and art expression.  I hope that students will produce work that is enjoyable and challenging for them to create.  I hope to create a positive attitude in class where students will be comfortable experimenting with new ideas and new techniques. I'm excited to be working with the older student. 

At home in Denton, my husband Brian and I like to travel to see our kids.   Our children Robert and Mandi are far from home but near at heart. My daughter Mandi lives in Colorado and my newly married son Robert lives in Japan.  I am currently working on a card and print line that I launched last year with a friend called Springamajig Press.  You can see my work at www.springamajigpress.com
