My path in life began in Hutchinson, Kansas where I was raised in a wonderfully loving family which included two brothers. I was always drawn to those individuals who were different, hoping to make them feel included and comfortable. I knew early what my calling in life would be.

I moved to Texas where I attended college at Texas Woman’s University. I am a certified Classroom Teacher: Special Education (Grades EC-12) and Generalist (Grades EC-4). I have been teaching in Little Elm ISD since 2007. 

My classroom is designed to accommodate the Active Learning approach which is designed to facilitate learning for students with multiple disabilities. Research shows that children learn through play and interacting with their environment. Many children with multiple disabilities were limited as infants in their opportunities to experience and explore which helps develop their basic skills. My classroom provides a multiple sensory environment, encouraging students to participate in their own learning experiences.

My evenings are filled with the most wonderful blessing in my life, my son, Nelson Hendrickson. He has brought joy, understanding, patience, and fulfillment to my life over the past 3 years.
