Mrs. Misty Schumacher - 1st Grade

Welcome to First Grade! My name is Misty Schumacher and I am so excited to be teaching your child this year! I am beginning my 19th year in education, 16th within LEISD. I have also taught second and third grade, but found my passion with first graders! They keep me on my toes and laughing, making each day so much fun!

I am originally an East Texas girl, where I was born and raised in Tyler.  After graduating from UT Tyler, I made a move to Plano and then to Anna.  After commuting 11 years, I moved to Little Elm.  I love living in the same town where I teach and where my children go to school.  I am married to Rick, and combined we have six of the BEST children: Presley (24), Molley (22), Justin (17), Pierce (14), Evan (12), and Dylon (10). Being a mother is the most rewarding job.  I am lucky they are mine!
If I am not on the soccer field or in the baseball stands, you may find me out shopping, or working in my yard!  I love Starbucks, Hobby Lobby, Mexican food, and most of all I love my puppies, Lucy and Leo!  I am a loud, proud, and fun LOBO!  I am excited about getting to know you this year and building lasting relationships with all of my students.  Please don't hesitate to contact me for any reason!

  • Why can't my child go to the restroom after recess?

    Posted by:

Your child is given many opportunities to go to the restroom.  Children are supposed to stop and visit the potty BEFORE each recess, so that once recess is over and we get back to the classroom, he/she can get back to work quickly.  We have to use all out instructional time in the classroom wisely sincce we take so make recess breaks throughout the day.

  • Why does my child need a water bottle everyday?

    Posted by:

Your child needs a water bottle everyday because we go out to recess 4 times a day.  Students are only to get drinks from the fountain on our way outside.  When we come back inside, students need to get back to work right away!  We don't have time to take a break from our classtime to get water.  If your child has a water bottle, they can keep it on their desk and get a drink when they are thirsty.
