Mrs. Samantha Calamaco - ESL

Hello! I am the ESL Coordinator, main Classroom Teacher, and Language Proficiency Assessment Committee Teacher Representative for Little Elm High School in Little Elm, Texas. Currently, I teach English as a Second or Other Language I, II and Language Labs to assist students in the language acquisition skills. I have been teaching for eleven years in Texas, seven of them as an ESL teacher. I love teaching students the basic and advanced levels of the English language, and am dedicated in furthering our students' success in and outside of the classroom concerning their communication skills.

I have currently been married to my amazing husband for 3 years, and have an daughter. She currently attends the Zellars Childcare Center. We live in Little Elm, Texas.

My hobbies include reading and baking. I am a fabulous reader, but a not-so-fabulous cook. I love watching TV when I am not busy running after my small child, and enjoy taking walks through our neighborhood. I am currently interested in visiting some great locations in the United States, such as Las Vegas. My husband and I are members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.

My education includes a high school diploma from Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas, in 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2005, with a major in English and a minor in History. I have also participated in graduate level coursework through the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture in Dallas, Texas. I have certifications to teach English/Language Arts, History, and ESL in grades 8-12.

My previous teaching experiences include three years in Grand Prairie ISD teaching English/Language Arts and Reading, four years in Lewisville ISD teaching ESL, specifically Lewisville High School, and one year at Premier High School in Lewisville, Texas teaching English/Language Arts and ESL. I joined the Fighting Lobos in August 2014 and have enjoyed my time with Little Elm High School.
