2020-2021 is my seventh year in LEISD, and 15th year teaching. I am from Farmers Branch, graduating from R.L.Turner in 2006. I began college at Oklahoma State University and transferred as an undergrad to The University of Texas at Arlington where I completed my bachelor of music. I taught for six years at Maple Lawn Elementary in Dallas ISD, then two years at Freeman Elementary in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, six years at Prestwick STEM Academy, and am excited for the first year of Strike Middle School.
I moved my family to Little Elm eight years ago and we love it here! My wife and I have six children: four have graduated from Little Elm High School and are spread out at BYU-Idaho, BYU, Collin County College, and Stephen F Austin. Of my youngest two students, one will be a freshman at Little Elm High School, and one will be in kindergarten at Prestwick Elementary.
After college, I was able to pursue and finish certification by the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, completing three levels of courses at Southern Methodist University continuing education courses. Orff Schulwerk incorporates speech, singing, movement, and instruments in music education.
I have also completed Level I training of Kodaly training, a vocal-centered music education.
