Superintendent of Schools

Michael Lamb has served as Superintendent of Schools for Little Elm Independent School District since spring 2023, bringing nearly three decades of experience in public education leadership to the District.

Prior to joining Little Elm ISD, Mr. Lamb served as Superintendent of Sulphur Springs ISD, where he led the district for 11 years. During his tenure, Sulphur Springs ISD earned a Superior rating on the Texas Education Agency's FIRST financial accountability system, developed and implemented long-range strategic plans, and successfully oversaw multiple construction and facilities projects.

Mr. Lamb has 27 years of experience in education, having served in a variety of leadership roles across Texas. His career includes positions as Executive Director of Secondary Education for Forney ISD, Principal in Huntsville ISD, Assistant Principal in McKinney ISD, and math teacher and coach in Lindale ISD and Wills Point ISD.  

Known for his approachable leadership style, Mr. Lamb has built a reputation for being highly visible and deeply engaged in school life. It's not uncommon for him to fill in from time-to-time as a substitute teacher, learning side-by-side with students and gaining firsthand insight into teaching and learning. He is also a familiar face at campus and community events across the District, believing that strong relationships are built through presence, listening, and shared experiences. Mr. Lamb often reminds students and staff alike that “It’s a great day to be a Lobo!”

A respected leader at the regional and state levels, Mr. Lamb has earned numerous honors throughout his career, including:

• TASA Executive Committee Representative, Region 8 (2021–2023)

• Chairman, Region 8 Executive RAC (2020–2022)

• Thompson Executive Leadership Institute Superintendent Academy Member (2019–2020)

• ESC Region 8 Superintendent of the Year (2018)

• Hunt/Hopkins County African American Leadership Conference Superintendent of the Year (2013)

• Forney ISD Administrator of the Year (2009–2010)

Mr. Lamb holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He remains committed to student success, strong fiscal stewardship, and collaborative leadership that supports staff, families, and the Little Elm community.
