Class of 2022 Reported More than $5 Million in Scholarships to Colleges, Universities

Little Elm High School seniors shined bright on Wednesday, April 20, as they were recognized for receiving offers for a total of more than $5M in scholarship awards. "These seniors have set an example for all of us as to just how well hard work literally pays off,” said Little Elm ISD College Readiness Coordinator, Keisha Brown.
As a class, seniors reported to Brown acceptances to over 90 different colleges from across the country. Colleges such as Washington University in St. Louis, DePaul University, Loyola University in Chicago, Fisk University, Savannah College of Art and Design, University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Oklahoma, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Baylor University, and many more. They were offered more than 100 scholarships worth more than $5M.
Four students were selected by a college, university, or other organization to receive a full tuition or full academic scholarship based solely on merit:
Angelgabriel Leos – Full tuition to the University of Houston. He received a total of $160,108.
Emily Mills – Full tuition to the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. She received more than $400,000 in scholarships.
Ailicec Valdez Garcia – Full tuition to Texas Christian University. She received $400,000 in scholarships to TCU.
Kai Washington – Full Tuition to Washington University in St. Louis through QuestBridge College Match program. She received a total of $332,000 in scholarships.
Students also received scholarships from the following:
CoServ STEM Scholarship – Emily Mills, $1,000
Believe Scholarship – Jacob McCulley, $500
Jerry R. Walker Memorial Scholarship - $633: Georgia Heathcock, Gracie Miller, Sophia Magana, Bryson Jones, Maximus Gregg. $6,330: Margaret Troxclair, McKenna Kesler
