Little Elm ISD Announces New Principals

Kelly Hastings

Little Elm ISD is pleased to announce Kelly Hastings as the principal of Lowell H. Strike Middle School.  Ms. Hastings has served as the principal of Young Junior High School in Arlington ISD for the past seven years.  Prior to becoming a principal, Ms. Hastings served as an assistant principal at Martin High School in Arlington ISD and at Icenhower Intermediate School in Mansfield ISD.  Prior to her time as an administrator, Hastings spent many years as a classroom teacher.

Hastings attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree.  She is currently writing her dissertation to earn a doctorate in Educational Leadership through Walden University.

We are excited to have Ms. Hastings join the Little Elm ISD famiLE. She is a strong instructional leader who brings years of experience. Her experience as a principal includes being selected for both the Harvard and Holdsworth Leadership Academies. 

“Ms. Hastings will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our students and teachers at Strike Middle School,” said Daniel Gallagher, superintendent. “She is a difference maker in terms of changing the lives of those around her. We are looking forward to having her serve the Little Elm ISD community.”  

“I appreciate that the world is changing and understand we need to change with it,” said Hastings. “We need to educate students for a world none of us know, so teaching students to think and to work well with others is our number one job. I seek to be an educator from which my grandchildren can benefit.”

Mrs. Hastings will join Kelley Carr at Lakeside Middle School as a co-principal in July 2019 prior to her role as principal of Strike Middle School which will open in August of 2020.



Kori Werth

Little Elm ISD is pleased to announce Kori Werth as the new principal of Oak Point Elementary for the upcoming school year. Ms. Werth has served in a variety of roles in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD including four years as the principal of Elkins Elementary, five years as an assistant principal. Prior to her role as an administrator, she served for several years as a classroom teacher.

Ms. Werth graduated from Texas Christian University in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Education with an Early Childhood emphasis. She received her Masters in Education Administration from the University of North Texas in 2009.

“I am excited to welcome Ms. Werth to Little Elm ISD. She will be a great addition to Oak Point Elementary,” said Gallagher. “She has an incredible focus on building campus culture, creating an environment centered around student-learning, and she is a strong instructional leader who will bring so much energy to that campus.” 

 “I am very excited to be joining the Little Elm famiLE and am looking forward to joining Oak Point Elementary and getting to know the students, staff, and families within the Little Elm ISD community”, said Werth.

Ms. Werth will begin her new role at the District in July of 2019.
