Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)
College readiness assessments and the Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)
The state of Texas requires that students takes college readiness assessments to determine if they are ready for college before they can take any college classes. There is a deadline for testing to qualify for dual credit.
Passing Scores for the TSIA2 are as follows:
- Reading -945+ OR <945 with a 5+ on the diagnostic
- Essay- 5+
- NOTE: to be TSIA-Met in English, you must pass both the Reading and Essay sections
- Math - 950+ OR <950 with a 6+ on the diagnostic
Students may be exempt from TSIA through:
- SAT and/or ACT
- TSIA exemptions for reading section:
- SAT EBRW (English) Score of 480+
- ACT English and Reading Combined Score of 40+
- TSIA Exemptions for Math Section:
- SAT Math Score of 530+
- ACT Math Score of 22+
