PROGRAM MISSION
The Mission of the Little Elm ISD mentoring program is to provide the essential support beginning teachers need to keep them in the profession.
PROGRAM GOALS
To ensure that each child who is assigned a beginning teacher has access to a high-quality educational experience that meets their needs.
To recruit, recognize, and retain high quality, effective personnel to support student success at every level.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Mentoring plays a critical role in improving the professional knowledge and skills teachers need in order to feel confident and be prepared. We know teachers are leaving the profession every day. Having a mentor can be the difference maker for teachers and their students.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
All instructional professionals new to the profession shall be provided a mentor and successfully complete the district Teacher Mentoring Program. Beginning educators, teachers or other professionals entering their first or second year in the classroom/role, shall be provided a mentor and successfully complete a District two-three year mentoring program. Program related professional learning is designed to meet the unique needs of beginning teachers new to Little Elm ISD.
