The Little Elm ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of the next Hackberry Elementary Principal at the Board Meeting on Monday night. The District is pleased to announce that Steven Menezes will serve as the Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

Menezes currently serves as an elementary principal in California. His experience as a campus leader dates back to 2015 when he served as an Associate Principal at the high school level. He has served as a principal at both secondary and elementary campuses.

Superintendent Mike Lamb stated that Menezes' experience as a principal at a Dual Language campus will make him a great fit for the students at Hackberry. "I think he will bring a valuable perspective to Little Elm after serving as an elementary and secondary principal. One of the things that stands out about him is his core value of building culture. I am excited to see how he can empower our students and teachers at Hackberry Elementary and continue the greatness that has already been established," said Lamb.

Menezes is excited to join the Little Elm ISD FamiLE, “My initial visit to Little Elm left a strong impression of a community where my family could flourish. I am eager to contribute to the success of Hackberry Elementary by serving the families and staff. I am confident that this will be a wonderful place for my family to call home,” said Menezes.

Menezes began his teaching career in 2008 and has taught social science, government, history, and was also a boys and girls soccer and track and field coach. He received his master’s degree in School Administration from California State University.
