Little Elm ISD School Board Approves Renaming Lakeview Elementary for the start of 26-27 School Year

The Little Elm ISD Board of Trustees approved the recommendation at last night's school board meeting to rename Lakeview Elementary to Dr. Ashley B. Glover Elementary, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

Originally, the plan was to name elementary school #8 in honor of Dr. Glover. However, due to declining enrollment, the opening of an eighth elementary campus has been placed on hold. As part of this discussion, Superintendent Michael Lamb shared a broader vision with the Board—to ensure that schools within Little Elm carry names that reflect significant individuals. Other campuses carry the name of the communities it serves.

For families who may not be familiar with Dr. Glover, she was a beloved and influential member of the Little Elm community for more than 20 years. Dr. Glover attended school in Little Elm, returned to serve as an educator, and later supported students across the district in her role as Director of Federal Programs and Accountability. She passed away in August 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving a lasting impact on our schools and our community.

Renaming Lakeview Elementary in her honor allows us to recognize her dedication, leadership, and the meaningful difference she made in the lives of students and staff. Thank you for your continued support as we honor Dr. Glover’s legacy and look ahead to this transition.
